Considering that jobless rates hit a four-year high, GM and other companies posted massive losses, and the price of oil rose again, it is not surprising that Stock Market Conditions is what the affluent feel affect their investment plans the most.
Those conditions are second only to a concern about the Economic Environment. All other concerns are distant compared to these two. The concern about the Economic Environment has steadily risen since January 2007, it has hit a high this month at 21%, overall (20% for Millionaires).
Investment plans are affected, overall, by Economic Environment but specifically by Stock Market Conditions, and have been consistently since the beginning of the year. Indeed, this is always true, whether or not the market is in turmoil.
