Sponsor Satisfaction Levels Rebound |

After several years of notable angst among plan sponsors, overall satisfaction has risen to a level not seen since 1999. On a 10-point scale, with 10 indicating “very satisfied,” plan sponsor satisfaction registered 8.1.
This is equivalent to sponsors’ satisfaction level in 1999, when the investment markets were performing exceptionally well.
Why are plan sponsors more satisfied with their providers? Several issues could contribute to the good news: Despite individuals’ negative feelings about the economy, financial markets have rebounded somewhat, making plan sponsors feel better about their overall investment returns.
While several plan providers were struggling with administrative issues earlier in the century, most providers have now overcome those operational challenges. Overall, plan sponsors are feeling good. This probably will lead to less switching in the near future and leave providers searching for the next “hot” thing.
