Concerns about the Economy Continues Unabated |
Both the Affluent and Millionaires feel the economy is the most serious threat to achieving their household’s financial goals. This is unsurprising considering the rollercoaster market, Fed interest rate cuts, continued real estate crisis and all the negative media attention the possible impending recession has been receiving. This concern is slightly higher for Millionaires than for the Affluent and it has steadily risen as a concern since March 2007.
Of secondary concern is the Political Climate, presumably the upcoming elections. Market Conditions are a distant third, and at the highest point in a year. Considering the effects a recession will have on unemployment rates, this concern may grow in the future; though less susceptible to employment trends, even the Affluent and Millionaires may feel the sting. Indeed, at 6% the Affluent were more concerned than Millionaires (1%) about unemployment.
